Avertor is of interest despite top-weight however SIR GEOFFREY looks ready to win again and is preferred to Make My Dream. Alan McCabe's son of Captain Rio bounced back to form with a solid third to Mey Blossom at Thirsk last month. His earlier win at Ripon off 68 suggests that this 5lb higher mark won't be a problem and the jockey booking takes the eye. Make My Dream is consistent and looked a tad unlucky at Windsor, Brierty holds Highland Warrior on their York run last time where the race was run to suit, whilst Sands Crooner represents a yard in great form and is not dismissed after a Doncaster win last week. Of more interest however are Sulis Minerva, Evelyn May and Avertor. The former tries blinkers for the first time and Jamie Spencer retains the ride and is doing a fairly light weight, Barry Hills' filly is well-handicapped although might just be better on the all-weather, whilst Roger Charlton's gelding is down in the weights and down in trip, both of which look sure to suit. Hazelrigg wins rarely and this strong-traveller needs to prove that his win last time was no flash in the pan. An interesting sprint then where the most tentative of votes goes to Sir Geoffrey.
