Esprit de Midas comes right into this on his Newcastle run three starts back but perhaps he needs a bit of rain to fall and we'll look elsewhere on this occasion, with the vote going to FALASTEEN. Richard Fahey's charge didn't look entirely at ease at Epsom so his winning performance is all the more meritorious and a 3lb rise still leaves the horse on a handy mark. He'll be held up and with plenty of pace in the race we're hopeful he finds the gaps to get home in front. Pravda Street is tempting as he won on his fourth start last season and has plummeted to a fine mark but he's one horse who could get involved in a battle for the lead along with Beckermet, Peter Island, Solar Spirit and Southwell winner Westwood. Transmit was placed off this mark when last tried over six and isn't discounted along with the talented but expensive to follow Lochan Mor.
