Phone Tag was very green at Newbury last month so did well to finish fourth. Little went right for STATE OF DESIRE when odds-on at Yarmouth three weeks ago but that experience will have taught the Frankel colt plenty and the extra furlong here is a plus. The same trainer and jockey combination won this two years ago. By The Book, a 400,000gns yearling, is also by Frankel and can’t be ignored despite apparently being the Godolphin second string while Macanudo cost Amo Racing 210,000gns. Jockey bookings suggest Quintus Maximus will be the pick of Charlie Johnston’s two runners.
