Ali D and Calculaite both line up in form, and preference is for the latter, with Del Mar Sunset, Pending and Gallego helping to make the finale quite competitive. There are certainly many in with claims here, but Calculaite has done nothing wrong of late, gaining back-to-back wins, at Wolverhampton and more recently over tonight's course and distance 11 days ago. On that occasion he made all to hang on by a fast-diminishing neck from Gallego who had to make up a mountain of ground in the straight, and on a pound better terms, many will fancy the Price inmate to turn the tables. We are not so sure though, as he has since found one too good again at Warwick, albeit on softer ground. Ali D has thrived since changing stables, but he has been well placed to win two moderate events, and this is tougher. Del Mar Sunset's third to Grand Terre at Ripon has since been let down, while Pending has more to do than when a close second in selling company at Thirsk. That was an improvement in form though and it would be no surprise if he were to figure. A wide-open finale can go the way of Calculaite.
