An open nursery where there are plenty of previous winners and Craggy Cat perhaps looks best of them, getting the tentative vote ahead of Irving Place, Chatham Islands and Perfect Flight. We will have a better idea as to the chances of the selection after seeing Bonny Rose perform in the second race on the card. Craggy Cat finished a neck in front of Mark Johnston's runner at Redcar last time in what looked a decent maiden for the track. Luca Cumani keeps his colt over this sprint trip and the move can pay dividends. Irving Place finally got off the mark at Nottingham last time out, when tried over this trip for the first time. He still needs to settle better than he does, but he clearly has some ability and won't be far away. Chatham Islands went very well when runner up in a Newbury nursery last time, after winning over c&d prior to that. Both pieces of form are good in context here and she is another runner who is more than capable of making the frame. Perfect Flight steps back up to 6f after one previously abortive try. Nevertheless she has been going well over the minimum and should be able to handle this distance well, so she is worth a look in the market. Fyodorovich was a winner at the trip last time although this looks tougher and improvement is required, while Bahamian Gift won in spite of his pre race antics on debut and if he handles the preliminaries better then he can surely improve. It's tricky then but emerging from all of that is a vote for Craggy Cat.
