LIGHTNING THUNDER will probably start at short odds for this but deservedly so as she only found one too good in both the 1000 Guineas and Irish 1000 Guineas and, despite failing to justifying favouritism, was beaten less than four lengths by Rizeena in the Coronation Stakes last time. A line through subsequent Goodwood winner J Wonder easily gives her the beating of Wee Jean and Manderley and Lady Lara may be the one to follow home Olly Stevens' filly. She can reverse Ascot running with Wee Jean on 5lb better terms and holds Psychometry on the form book. This is a big step up in grade for Ascot maiden winner Solar Magic and handicapper Token Of Love has more than 20lb to find with the selection according to official ratings.
