Burning Incense has dropped to his last winning mark of 87 and with Ryan Moore and eye-catching booking for the Michael Dods yard, he is given the vote in a race where a whole host of dangers can be listed. 2/23 career record would not inspire confidence where Burning Incense is concerned but having risen to a mark in the mid 90s and raced consistently off those marks, he struggled to post another victory. Last time his rider opted to race in a group of five, away from the main field which would not have suited and taking things into consideration it was not a bad effort. Joseph Henry reserves his best for Goodwood so it was no surprise to see him return there and post a fine effort last time but he doesn't seem to be as effective elsewhere. Even so, straight courses do suit him and his rider has struck up a good relationship with the yards sprinters this season. Wyatt Earp missed the break last time and could never get on terms. He was a winner on his penultimate start when blinkers looked to have the desired effect. He remains well handicapped on the pick of his form. Cape looks plenty high enough in the handicap but does like to come off a fast pace so the likely fast pace will suit. Front runner Harbour Blues faces a stiff task to make all over this course as plenty pressure will be applied from behind while Bel Cantor re-opposes Wyatt Earp but one feels he received an easy lead at Pontefract. Burning Incense is the pick in what is a wide open handicap.
