Final Venture is chasing back-to-back victories in this but appears to be facing better opposition this year. Judicial and Alpha Delphini weren’t beaten far behind Mabs Cross in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket and both would have a chance on that form but MUTHMIR won a Group 2 at Chantilly around this time last year and looks the one to beat. William Haggas’ sprinter is now eight but he’s not been disgraced in a Group 3 and a Group 2 this year and holds Doctor Sardonicus and Encore d'Or on the form book. Duke Of Firenze is even older but should reverse last week’s Epsom running with Blue De Vega on much better terms.
Encore d'Or 66-1 (9-4) Held up centre, ridden 2f out, weakened final furlong, 10th of 11, 7 1/2l behind Battaash (9-9) at Haydock 5f Grp 2 stks (1) gd in May.
Gracious John (IRE) 14-1 (9-7) Raced alone stands side, ridden over 1f out, never on terms, 10th of 18, 5 1/4l behind El Astronaute (9-4) at York 5f hcp (2) gf in May.
Alpha Delphini 7-1 (9-6) Led stand side group until ridden over 1f out, rallied inside final furlong, went 3rd close home, 3rd of 9, 3/4l behind Mabs Cross (9-3) at Newmarket 5f Grp 3 stks (1) gd in May.
Blue De Vega (GER) 8-1 (8-13) Held up towards rear racing on rail, headway when not clear run and switched left over 1f out, not clear run again and switched left inside final furlong, ran on, never able to threaten, 4th of 20, 4l behind Tanasoq (8-0) at Epsom 5f hcp (2) gd in Jun.

Judicial (IRE) 10-1 (9-6) Taken to post early, raced centre tracked leader, ridden to lead overall inside final furlong, headed close home, 2nd of 9, nk behind Mabs Cross (9-3) at Newmarket 5f Grp 3 stks (1) gd in May.
