The drop in trip looks likely to suit TOWBAAT and Michael Jarvis' filly is selected here ahead of Bin Shamardal and Seafarer in a very competitive handicap. The daughter of Halling is likely to get ten furlongs in time but she seemed to falter up the Sandown hill last month and it is no real surprise to see connections drop her in trip. Her mark of 78 may still be a tad on the high side considering she didn't beat much at Kempton in April but she is still open to more improvement. Frankie Dettori hops off to ride Pentominium for Mark Johnston. This Dubai Destination colt was last seen winning at Lingfield in February but he made hard work of beating a rival rated 60 so this opening mark of 73 is going to ask some questions. Golden Tiger has had three Southwell runs including a claimer and is hard to fancy, Edition caught a tartar in Avon River at Windsor and is respected off bottom-weight, whilst the drop in trip looks likely to suit Fonterutoli after a Lingfield flop last time out. A flat mile should see Jupiter Fidius in a better light, Dolphin Rock is not ignored given his progressive profile for a shrewd yard, whilst Irish Eyes have been giggling rather than smiling at his three efforts to date. Spoken is dropping in grade and is another for whom the return to a mile is a plus, Con Zur hasn't gone on since a winning debut at Newcastle, whilst William Morgan lost his race before the start at York last time and is worth another chance. Bin Shamardal beat little at Beverley and looks too high in the weights judging by his Redcar flop, so a bigger threat will be Seafarer. Brian Meehan's colt was ponied to the start at Bath on debut and rewarded the time and effort with a strong late run to collar High Importance and hold on well. The form looks modest with several letting the form down since however this fellow is open to plenty of improvement and having made 175,000 guineas as a two-year-old hope are high that he can go on to bigger and better things. Intriguing fare then, with the vote going to the filly Towbaat.
