Mayleaf Shine is just a pound higher than when winning this 12 months ago. She’s not been in the same form so far this season but a repeat is not ruled out. Excessable was well behind Poyle Vinnie on Fibresand last time but is better judged on an earlier win at Musselburgh. Orvar got back to winning ways at Doncaster but this is a better race and Intense Romance has been struggling to get her head in front in lesser company. Robert Cowell saddles four of the 11 declared runners but the race should be run to suit BLUE DE VEGA with several trail-blazers among the opposition. Despite a small field, Oisin Murphy’s mount didn’t get much of a run last time at Epsom having faced a stiff task at the weights earlier at Nottingham. Storm Over beat Poyle Vinnie on Polytrack in June but hasn’t raced since.
