In depth

Verdict

Uno gets the call ahead of Brocatello, Abeurbe Condita and Rainbow Zest. Uno has been frustrating to follow so far, finding one or two too good on each of her last four starts. However, the Barry Hills filly has not run a bad race in truth, and this half-sister to Gringo is taken to make the most of a step back up in trip. She handled soft ground when second at Newmarket in May, so should not be inconvenienced by today's conditions. Brocatello shaped well in the closing stages on his Beverley bow, but it is a bit disconcerting that he was fitted with blinkers first time. Abeurbe Condita is going the right way and will also handle the going, while Rainbow Zest hails from an in-form stable. They appear to be the main contenders, and we will give Uno another chance.
