Although 17 runners are set to face the starter for this lady amateur riders' handicap it may not be as competitive as the numbers suggest with four of the field racing from out of the weights proper and Our Glenard is taken to confirm Beverley superiority over Lazzaz. Shaun Keightley's four-year-old won with plenty in hand on that occasion and should be able to defy a 3lb rise in the weights. The runner-up has run well in two starts since to give the form a solid look to it but faces no easy task meeting his conqueror on only 2lb better terms for a length-and-a-half. Brian Ellison's Crunchy, who comes here fit from hurdling rates the main danger with Shape Up again likely to find at least one too good.
