If Elliot's Choice could reproduce the form of his second start when third to Caldy Dancer over course and distance he would have solid claims but disappointing efforts either side of that temper enthusiasm and this may go to one of the newcomers with a chance taken on Melody King over Joint Destiny and Dockside Story. David Evans has his string in fine fettle at present so it would come as no surprise to see Melody King, a sprint-bred son of Merdon Melody, improving his trainer's respectable record with first time out two-year-olds. A couple of Mick Channon's juveniles have run below par of late so Joint Destiny may be best watched and of more interest among the debutantes is Alan Berry's Dockside Story, who is a half-brother to three two-year-old winners. Richard Hannon's Tregarron was well beaten on his debut and, while that was in a decent Newbury maiden, he needs to improve a good deal on that evidence.
