tracked leaders, ridden and every chance 2 out, blundered last, kept on same pace

led, ridden and reminders after 4 out, headed 2 out, soon weakened
tracked leader, ridden to challenge 3 out, weakened next

Maraud, Day Du Roy and Royal Beluga look the ones to concentrate on in this competitive handicap and we will take a chance on Day Du Roy. The gelding from the Jonjo O'Neill yard was a good second behind Elegant Clutter last time under similar conditions and if he can reproduce that effort here he will be hard to beat. Maraud looked to have found a new lease of life when making all to win on his debut for the Reg Hollinshead yard when defeating Banjo Hill but her will find this tougher under his penalty. Royal Beluga was running over fences at the end of last season and his trainer may be sharpening him up here before being sent back over the larger obstacles so for that reason he is opposed. Fortunate Dave would have a chance on his best form but he never runs to races a like. Mamboesque may be out classed so we are happy to side with Day Du Roy.
