Not a strong contest and a chance is taken with GUIDING SPIRIT who makes his handicap bow here off a mark of just 60 for Clive Cox after three starts in novice company in which the Zebedee gelding has shown sprinkles of ability. He could well improve for a gelding operation and this is not to the most demanding of contests in which to begin life in handicaps. Warning Fire gives weight away all round but does have a win in the book this year and didn't run at all badly last time at Brighton. Expect her to be in the mix along with Olivia R, open to further improvement after half a dozen starts, the best of which delivered an improved Redcar effort the last day over this trip.
