Dance To My Tune looked to be given too much to do in a lady riders' race last time but that would not be the first time that he has flattered to deceive and a safer bet looks to be Ceiriog Valley, who is preferred to Mustajed and Mt Desert. The last mentioned stepped up on his maiden form when tackling middle distances for the first time here in April. John Gosden's colt may well have improved since then but lack of a recent run has to be of concern and he may be best watched. Nick Littmoden's Countrywide Luck is closely matched with Dance To My Tune on York running but is far from certain to confirm their running their and of more interest may be John Dunlop's Karlu, who clearly handles cut in the ground and has a progressive profile. Nessen Dorma and Gandalf have claims on the pick of their form, although a bigger threat is likely to come from Mustajed who seemed to handle a softer surface on his only previous start under similar conditions. The vote though goes to the Barry Hills-trained Ceiriog Valley, who showed again at Ripon last time that she is much better on soft ground and she has an obvious chance off today's 6lb higher mark.
