Act of The Pace can beat Infidelity in the opener, with Astrocharm and Transendantale best of the rest. Act of The Pace has not taken long to make up for lost time, having won well in maiden company at Ripon a fortnight ago on what was only her third racecourse start. Mark Johnston's filly, who did not race as a juvenile, caused a shock when going in at odds of 20-1 at the Yorkshire track, and this half-sister to Yavana's Pace is out to prove that that was no fluke. Given a mark of 76 for her handicap debut here, time may tell if that is too harsh an assessment. Down at the bottom of the weights rests Infidelity who will appreciate the step up in trip after being outpaced behind Dark Raider at Ayr recently. Astrocharm came up against the very much in-form Polar Jem at Newmarket and not surprisingly was taken off her feet. She has the assistance of Frankie Dettori, while Transendantale may also shape better over today's distance. The one with the most scope of all though is Act of The Pace who is worth chancing to defy topweight.
