In depth

Verdict

Making Music is back to form and from this sort of mark she can follow up her recent Newcastle success under a penalty, with Briery Lane a danger and Newkeylets and Bond Becks others on the short list. The selection was winning off a mark of 72 a couple of years ago and has often run well from much higher marks than this since. Off a lowly 46 she scored over this trip at Gosforth Park last time and now she has some confidence again she looks well capable of following up. Briery Lane is another last time winner, having scored at Bath over the minimum. In contrast to the selection, the gelding will need to put up a career best to win with a penalty and conceding weight all around won't help his cause. Newkeylets is still a maiden after 23 starts and seems to find a couple too good each time whether it is over this trip or 6f. She can again get involved off this mark but still looks best watched. Bond Becks does not win often either, but all three successes have come at this trip and now from 2lb below that last win plus a 3lb claim off his back he should go very close. However Making Music can call the tune here.
