Verdict

This is a race that will not take too much winning and Patxaran gets the verdict ahead of Jeffslottery and White Star Magic. Pat Haslam's filly contested some decent enough nurseries last season and ran with credit in most of them. She was disappointing on her final run, but may have got bogged down in the ground. That was over a mile as well and she will be better suited by this longer trip. Jeffslottery was well beaten in a decent race at Catterick last week, but this is a big step down in class, he holds strong claims particularly on official ratings. White Star Magic has shown enough ability in recent all-weather events to warrant respect in this weak event. The selection's stable companion Impasse Carraire should be monitored in the betting market, along with the Michael Dodds trained Sadie's Star, but our idea of the winner is Patxaran.
