In depth

Verdict

Zig Zag Zyggy makes a quick reappearance under a penalty after winning at Dundalk on Friday night. He did win over course and distance in July but today’s conditions would have to be a concern. Fellow three-year-olds Dandy's Beano and Terrier Spirit would have to enter calculations while Hot Hannah went close in a big field at Ayr last Thursday off today’s mark. Granny Roz ran well after a break at Thirsk last month and won on soft going at Doncaster in the spring but was behind LYDIATE LADY, Elysian Flyer and July’s Beverley winner Jacob's Pillow at Ripon earlier. Eric Alston’s filly is 2lb lower now and could be a poised for a return to winning ways. Al Batal is unexposed and making his handicap debut so shouldn’t be ignored.
