Back on a soft surface, VALLARTA beat a number of today’s rivals over course and distance 11 days ago. He was always holding Sir Domino inside the final furlong and a 3lb rise is not excessive so Ruth Carr’s mud-lover can again beat the runner-up and also Rockley Point and Alfie's Angel. Benjamin Thomas is a possible danger as John Quinn’s four-year-old is starting to look very well handicapped and has probably been running better than his form figures would suggest this year. Khelman is another thrown in on past form but he does most of his racing over 7f nowadays and hasn’t shown much this season.
