Two Turtle Doves ran better over course and distance last time and a similar performance would see him go close here but a 3lb rise since then makes this more difficult and it may be worth siding with CHEYENNE RED, who is preferred to Kings Ace. The last mentioned ran better on soft ground at Ayr for Alan Jarvis last time and a similar effort today will see him go close. Ian Semple's Liberty Trail won his maiden over course and distance well enough but he probably did not beat a great deal and this looks tougher having been raised 2lbs since that effort. John Balding's Sleepy Blue Ocean is far from certain to handle the cut in the ground and of more interest may be Future Gem, who has shown improved form of late. Preference though is just for Cheyenne Red, who won his maiden here on soft ground last month, has run creditably in handicaps since then and he looks worth chancing to resume winning ways.
