Mark Johnston's juveniles invariably improve from their first start to their second but Moonbalej would need to step up considerably on what he showed at Newmarket last month to trouble LAYLA'S BOY, who looks the one to beat with Danceintothelight rated the best of the rest. The selection showed his best form when encountering a soft surface for the only time in his career in a Leicester auction maiden and Richard Fahey's gelding looks worth backing to go one better today. Mick Channon's Sabander Bleue is closely matched with Layla's Boy on official BHA ratings but has yet to prove his effectiveness with cut in the ground. Starry Mount may do better now racing on a softer surface being out of a Denehill Dancer mare but a bigger threat looks to be Danceintothelight. Kevin Ryan's colt has only had the one start so far and was well held in a Beverley maiden last month but that was on fast ground and, being by Dansili out of a Linamix mare, she should do better on this ground. Preference though is for Layla's Boy, who can give Richard Fahey another winner.
