CHEYENNE RED looks the most consistent in this tight handicap and with him possibly displaying the best form he is our marginal preference in front of Apache Ridge and Bateleur. With wining course and distance form and with two wins in the last six outings the selection has a level of consistency the others don't. He found just the one too good the last time we saw him and with a good record here he looks worth the risk on his seasonal bow. Apache Ridge was well held in third on his last run off this mark but was a winner on his only start at this venue. A return here might be the key and he is a leading player. Bateleur has won from 4lbs higher in the handicap but has failed to take advantage of some good opportunities recently but place claims look on the cards. Guest Connections has improved in a couple of runs this season and might kick on again while Finsbury is from a yard in form and shouldn't be ignored. A tough end to the day but Cheyenne Red has the consistency to win it.
