Verdict

STEIG was a beaten favourite last time but gets the nod here with This Ones For Eddy and Ergo expected to be stiff competition. George Baker's gelding was returning from an eight month break when last out and looked impressive. He has a couple of victories over this trip to his name already and after his last outing he looks capable of adding a third. This Ones For Eddy ran a fine race in defeat last time but failed to follow up on his win at the same venue earlier last month. He has preference for quicker ground and the going here should suit but a rise in the weights may hamper progress here and he may find the selection hard to beat under such conditions. Ergo has two victories and a runner up place to his name so far this year. The 7f looked to short for him last time and he will appreciate the extra furlong here.
