Jim Bolger has a tremendous record in this having won it five times in recent years so the fact that Alpinist hasn't run since finishing tailed off in a Group 3 at Leopardstown last April shouldn't be held against him. However, he's likely to find TIMIYAN very difficult to beat after his victory at Galway despite being hit with an astonishing 16lb rise in the weights. Dermot Weld's charge had been racing over much shorter trips in maiden and really came into his own over this distance at the Festival so can defy the extra and score again. Primogeniture started favourite that day after scoring at Fairyhouse but had no answer though is massively better off at the weights. Stocktons Wing will enjoy the conditions but is better over further while Ebadani finally lost his maiden tag in very easy fashion at Killarney where he started long odds-on in what was a very poor contest.
