Verdict

There have been two runnings of the race and both have produced surprise results. Ben Curtis has been in brilliant form this season and his mount Rue De Cabastan ran well at Ballinrobe last time. However, the winner that day, PHILOSOPHERS GUEST, came home in taking fashion under Danny Mullins after making all and can defy an 8lbs rise. Talkin Kate has a 5lbs penalty to contend with after Maria Quinlan steered her to victory at Naas on Tuesday where she was eased down a little too quickly and had more in hand over Appletreemagic than the head verdict suggests. Blue Law has been in good form and deserved his comfortable success at Bellewstown last week while Coolagad Wonder appeared to find major improvement to beat All In Clover at Limerick and will be well ridden here.
