Hisnameis Mrdevitt showed nothing in four starts before a shock victory under Gavin Ryan at Limerick. Whether he can replicate the run from 6lb higher is another matter. Buachaill Or almost made all in another division of that Limerick event, only caught close home by today's rival DARK DESIGN. Shane Foley had to be at his strongest to get the winner home but Ben Coen is one of the more experienced apprentices in the race so he won't lack effort from the saddle. Miss Dancealot was only a couple of lengths behind in fourth but she'd earlier been only fifth behind Slieve Bearnagh in a 7f Roscommon handicap though the winner struggled from 4lb higher at Naas. Sweet Justice has produced fine efforts here and at Naas but has gone up again without winning.
