Verdict
Brazilian Brush should be backed to win this heat as long as the ground remains on the soft side of good. It's not easy to separate the remainder but Cheshire Rose is an interesting raider from Yorkshire and Jane's Payoff may have more to offer. The selection hasn't fulfilled the obvious promise that he showed on debut when finishing strongly into fourth behind Fateh Fields at Newbury. He has worn a tongue tie the last twice but that has been dispensed with for this afternoon. He has a bit to prove but this will be the first time that he's encountered similar ground to that of his debut and his pedigree points to him being a soft ground horse. It's worth taking the chance in a poor race. Ben rates a mention but has won just once in nineteen starts with Our Acquaintance and Penrice Castle others that have had their share of opportunities. Cheshire Rose impressed when making a winning debut last year but has barely beat a horse home since and has a good bit to prove and of more interest is Jane's Payoff who has, at least, been progressive on the all-weather. There was a lot to like about her win last time but we'll go back to Brazilian Brush for our pick.
