Dandy Nicholls has brought Orion's Bow back to life and the five-year-old has now won his last five races, progressing from a mark of 69 to 106 in the process though he can race from 3lb lower under his penalty. He'll take some beating though won't be much of a price in this ultra-competitive event. The three-year-old Dancing Star, the only course and distance winner in the line-up, sneaks into the race by virtue of the penalty earned by beating a strong field at Newmarket and though progressing at a rate of knots she meets older horses for the first time and this is much tougher. Growl looks best of Richard Fahey's trio having completed a hat-trick over this trip before stepping up to 7f at Newmarket. Irish challenger Jamesie is a very smart sprinter on his day and earned some top prize money with three placed efforts in Dubai over the winter while the front-running Red Pike has often been the bridesmaid at this level but was at his best when runner-up at Beverley in course record time last month. TOOFI, runner-up a year ago for Roger Varian, has changed stables and been trained to go one better. He has little in hand of Rivellino, Dinkum Diamond and Suzi's Connoisseur, who were all close behind and ran well but Robert Cowell's new recruit is given the nod in a cracking renewal. .
