The Stoute and Johnston camps have both won this three times in recent years and are well represented. The former runs Shabbah, who completed a hat-trick over 1m2f before just failing against Manjaam over this trip at Ascot, and Shraaoh, who looked a smart prospect on Newcastle's Tapeta but was a disappointing favourite in the King George V Handicap at Ascot though his rider reported he'd lost his action. Mark Johnston saddles four with Soldier In Action possibly the best of them after landing a strong handicap at Ripon. Move Up came with a strong burst to land an Ascot handicap over 1m2f though he's 6lb higher and this is a better race. DAL HARRAILD (NAP) had subsequent dual winner St Michel and today's rival Regal Monarch in the places when landing the Edinburgh Cup and should have followed up at Ascot. He had too much ground to make up in a slowly run race and couldn't get to Manjaam or Shabbah but he looks a smart prospect who can take this before stepping into pattern race company.
