        Verdict

        Shalaa has a penalty for his victory in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket when Steady Pace was a length back in second. The winner is very speedy and will be suited by the track though his runs so far have been on fast ground, as have those of the runner-up. Aidan O'Brien has been withdrawing horses due to the soft going but appears to have no problems with AIR FORCE BLUE in the conditions. He couldn't quite cope with Buratino in the Coventry Stakes but lacked the experience of the winner and is expected to make the necessary progress to take this. Log Out Island's second to the Ballydoyle-trained Waterloo Bridge in the Norfolk Stakes was a good run but connections of the winner believe the selection is better at this stage.
