They are on the turn pretty quickly here so a high number is certainly preferable and all of those drawn towards to the inside look to have some sort of claim, with PRIME SPIRIT just preferred to Brae Hill. The Michael Bell-trained Brae Hill came good over this trip at Chester last time and a 5lb rise looks fair enough. His problem may be the slower ground and any rain won't help his cause. On to Prime Spirit then, and Bryan Smart's colt has already shown that he is well suited by this trip in a couple of narrow defeats which were punctuated by a more sizeable reverse in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket. He won't mind what the ground is to be able to produce a run and he was only just held from this mark last time so looks worth another try. Suruor represents a yard in good form and acts on any ground with good in the description. He is up 5lbs for going very well in defeat at Ascot and is well used to the hustle and bustle of these big fields, so is not dismissed lightly. Khor Dubai is 5lbs better off with Suruor from that Ascot run and is adaptable regarding conditions, so should also be very competitive, while Deadly Encounter will emerge from stall 13 with a feather weight on his back and does not have too much to find to pick up some prize money. Shamwari Lodge won't be inconvenienced by the step back up to a trip over which he may still be unexposed and did not run badly despite the BF tag last time. Super Academy has a tough task on his handicap debut in a race this competitive from a mark of 80 and with a low draw, while Infiraad is also drawn out near the local forestry but if overcoming that his run behind Firebet at Newmarket would mark him out as a leading contender. Typically competitive then and Prime Spirit is a sporting suggestion.
