Verdict

Only one of the last nine winners of this have started bigger than 7/1 so it may pay to concentrate on the market leaders again. Emotionless won a Group 2 at Doncaster last year and probably needed the run when a place behind pacemaker Cymric on his reappearance in the St James's Palace Stakes. He makes more appeal than the other Godolphin runner Promising Run, who has become disappointing. Richard Hannon and Sir Michael Stoute are both doubly represented and it's the latter's pair who are of particular interest. Forge was third to Sussex Stakes third Ribchester in the Jersey Stakes at Ascot but finished a head behind stablemate THIKRIYAAT, who also met trouble in-running. Paul Hanagan's mount won over a mile on his debut last year so stamina isn't an issue and he can resume winning ways in this granted a clear passage.
