Prince Of Thebes, Compton's Eleven and Serieux are likely to fight this one out between them, and we take Prince Of Thebes to be good enough. The selection has been dropped 1lb after a couple of defeats, but goes well at this trip and was not beaten by the ground when tried for the only time on it at Folkestone last year. Andrew Balding would like more success at his local track, and he can have another winner. Compton's Eleven would be a live danger, with some solid form to bring to the party. However, the ground is a major concern with him and for that reason he is opposed. Serieux never got in to it over a mile here on Tuesday, but is worth another try. Though he may be a little high in the weights, trip and ground should not pose a problem, and this smaller field will suit, so expect a better effort. But Prince Of Thebes to small stakes is the suggestion here.
