A hot race here, with Comic Strip, Alamiyan, Cheerleader and Babe Maccool all likely to come in for support, and we take topweight Comic Strip to extend his winning run. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained gelding has won five of his six starts, and has his first run since October here. Connections turned down the offer of decent money for the four-year-old, and they will hope that their decision bears immediate fruit. Proven in soft ground and sure to be suited by the longer trip, he has plenty in his favour. Alamiyan was a Pontefract winner last month, and if he handles soft then he will be no back number, while Cheerleader would also come into the equation more confidently if we knew whether she could go on the surface. Of the remainder, Babe Maccool is progressive, tough and genuine, and with the suggestion in his pedigree that he should handle conditions, he may be the one to give most to do to our selection, who is Comic Strip.
