In depth

Verdict

A two-miler to bring down the curtain and we like the look of Treason Trial, with others given a mention being, mainly, Grasp and Sir Monty. Silver Song ran reasonably well at Chepstow last time, but does not look that quick, while Grasp put in a fair effort when fourth over course and distance last time and might fare even better if ridden with more restraint today. Sir Monty's Salisbury run two runs ago from today's mark gives him claims, particularly as he steps up in trip again today, while Treason Trial's overall form gives him a big chance, and his only win so far came around this time last year. The locally-trained Adelphi Theatre would only be of interest if supported, while Protagonist was decent over hurdles three years ago but is hard to fancy today based on what we know. King Flyer is well-weighted on Turf form of two years ago, while Desert Island Disc ran well over this trip last time and looks pretty competitively weighted. Papeete won a amateur riders' event for National Hunt riders last time, but is a potential improver at this trip, while Tight Squeeze has won from higher marks and, although untried at this trip, gets respect. Overall, though, we will side with Treason Trial.
