Luca Cumani and Mark Johnston have together provided six of the last eight winners and can dominate again with KAZBOW just preferred to Emerging Artist, although Anhar and Martyr can't be discounted. Our selection romped to victory at Doncaster and looks like a typical Cumani-trained improver. With an 11lbs higher mark to overcome he'll have to be, but this tactically-versatile type is one to keep on side and edges the vote ahead of the less exposed Emerging Artist. He fought on gamely to win at Newbury despite the trip being on the short side and this step beyond a mile and a half can open the door to extra improvement, perhaps even enough to defy a 9lb rise. Anhar is tried in a visor and if it works he's a threat to all following a win that has been franked. Godolphin's representative is entered in the St Leger and will need to win this off 100 to justify that ambition. Martyr beat Bow To No One at Ascot and is expected to confirm form with the filly, as that was his first try beyond 1m4f and he seemingly improved plenty for it. Of course this is tougher, but Richard Hannon's charge has only gone up 3lbs for that stylish success. Jedi was exceptionally well ridden to win at Chester but looked one-paced at Hamilton thereafter, disappointing favourite backers in the process. He'll need to bounce back quickly but as a half-brother to Hi Calypso the best should be to come. Woolfall Treasure won over course and distance last time to advertise a liking for conditions and isn't to be omitted from calculations up 6lbs but preference is for Kazbow.
