chased winner, ridden over 2f out, soon weakened
held up in 3rd, smooth headway over 3f out, ridden and hung right over 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
made all, ridden 3f out, stayed on well
always towards rear, eased from 3f out
held up, headway over 3f out, ridden over 2f out, kept on same pace
slowly into stride, behind, stayed on from 2f out, never reached leaders
This race has cut up badly at the overnight stage and Bally Hall is taken to complete a hat-trick at the main expense of Banningham Blaze and Silent Waters. Gerard Butler's charge has proved a most progressive performer this term having scored three times in handicap company including an impressive four-length victory over nine furlongs at Brighton earlier in the month. The son of Saddlers Hall followed up in good style over the same trip at Nottingham on Monday, despite being heavily eased, and gave the strong impression that there is more to come, particularly over this extra two furlongs. Banningham Blaze is not the most reliable of animals but would have strong claims if reproducing the form of her close second over this trip at Lingfield late last month while Silent Waters has shown little in two starts this term but boasts some useful juvenile form and shouldn't be discounted under top weight but Bally Hall looks the safest bet to score off a mark just 1lb higher than his latest victory.
