slowly away, behind, sharp reminders after 1f, some headway when swerved right at course intersection over 2f out, soon lost place
prominent, driven to chase winner over 1f out, no impression final furlong
tracked leaders, chased winner briefly over 1f out, weakened final furlong
slowly away, ran green, always in rear
slight lead to 2f out, weakened over 1f out
slowly away and always behind

A modest maiden to open the card at Folkestone and Sketch, who made a satisfactory debut at Goodwood earlier in the month, is taken to build on that performance at the main expense of the two newcomers, Fools Entire and Vengerov. The Roger Charlton-trained selection was keeping on well inside the final furlong in his first outing and with that experience under his belt, he should have a race of this nature well within him now. Fools Entire and Vengerov make only moderate appeal on pedigree, but would not need to be anything special to hold off the likes of Hunting Pink and Chica, who already have improvement to find. Therefore Sketch looks to be the safest option in this moderate curtain raiser.
