An inevitably large field for this substantial purse and luck in-running highly likely to play a part as is so often the case in Goodwood handicaps. Burnt Sugar has produced two superb efforts to land back-to-back successes in massive handicaps for Roger Fell and was runner-up in this contest last year. He's still on a fair enough mark but has been allocated the widest draw of all and that may scupper his chance of going one better. Cape Byron and the hat-trick seeker, Mankib, have also found themselves drawn very wide although both, like Burnt Sugar cannot be ignored. It's easy to imagine plenty flying home late here but the Johnston pair of VALE OF KENT and Lake Volta are drawn four and five and are liable to race prominently. The former is just preferred as he already has a win to his name at this tricky track. Aljady and Absolutely So are just a couple of others with claims for this competitive prize.
