    Verdict

Lone Eagle is penalised for winning the Group 3 Zetland Stakes at Newmarket last year and finished behind third-placed YIBIR in the Classic Trial at Sandown last month. Neither the track nor first-time cheekpieces seemed to suit the latter at Chester last time but Charlie Appleby’s colt gets another chance in this with the headgear removed. Dual handicap winner Aleas is worth a try at this level stepping up in trip along with Gentleman Joe, who struggled in Listed company last month while Stay Well and Man Of Riddles are other unexposed types upped in class.
