Aunt Nicola finished second in what was without doubt an above average Southwell maiden last time and she can win at the second time of asking. La Brigitte was Aunt Nicola's conqueror at Southwell, a filly that had the benefit of two outings and experience of the fibresand. Stepping up to six furlongs here, that should not inconvenience Aunt Nicola judging by how she ran to the line at Southwell and although encountering turf for the first time, she is sure to be well schooled and she is the pick. Gal Aloud is the one to beat. Having showed real promise to finish fourth, first time out in the Newmarket (third has since won), she re-appeared at Doncaster but after looking the likely winner she was out-pointed by Golden Rosie, who incidentally is well entered up over the coming months. Deyas Dream showed promise on her debut but as they finished in a heap, the form is questionable. Ed Vaughan introduces a well-bred filly in Val De Flores, a half-sister to the former smart performer Mac Love. Amanda Perrett's yard is not renowned for first time out juvenile winners so Spanish Cygnet is best watched as is Sienna Lake, who will be of interest in handicaps following this outing. Aunt Nicola is given the vote to land it.
