In this handicap, Ivory Lace, gets the call ahead of River Of Babylon and Dr Synn. Ivory Lace looked to be an improved performer, certainly at today's trip, when winning at Brighton last time and, despite having to carry a penalty, she could well keep the improvement coming. River Of Babylon is reasonably weighted based on his best 2005 form and and should be sharper for his Ascot reappearance run, while Surwaki looked to be going the right way based on his Yarmouth run in April, but he did not follow that up over the longer trip of a mile last time. Regal Dream is reasonably weighted based on his Epsom win in July and is gradually coming to hand, so could go well. Greenwood is three pounds above his Lingfield winning mark from May and holds possibilities, while the course and distance winner Dr Synn - although he has yet to win a handicap - can certainly be given a shout based on his best 2005 form. Finally, Acomb and Blue Java remain above marks that they have yet to convince from, and Deeper In Debt still has it to prove based on his Turf form, much as his all-weather efforts read well. This, in turn, returns us to the selection, which is Ivory Lace.
