KAOLAK has been in great form this season and is taken to add to his winning tally, while Truism and Carbon Hoofprint both warrant plenty of respect. The selection has won two of his last three races but now has the burden of top weight to carry. The handicapper put him up eleven pounds for winning at this venue last time out which would seen a little harsh, but he did win well that day and this extra furlong ought to be in his favour. With luck in running he will not be far away come the business end of the race. Truism only ran twice as a two year old last year and has not been overly pushed this season. He did catch the eye when second to Pegasus Again at Windsor last month and has to be respected running off a two pound higher mark. Carbon Hoofprint has been a model of consistency this season rarely finishing out of the frame. He won nicely at Bath on his penultimate outing and was not discredited after finishing second at the same venue last time out. If at his best he is sure to go well. This looks a competitive race on paper, but Kaolak looks a horse on the upgrade and looks the percentage call.
