Most of the older brigade look pretty exposed with the possible exception of Loyaliste, who scored here last time in an amateur riders contest, and a three-year-old on the upgrade in the form of Michael Bell's GRUMETI makes greater appeal. He's a tough sort who grinds his races out well, Jimmy Fortune looks an ideal partner and he has retained his form pleasingly this term. There could be more to come too. Ramona Chase is where the handicapper wants him but he's tremendously consistent in decent handicap company, Mark Coumbe's claim will be useful and another good run is expected. Mariners Lodge has disappointed the last twice which brings us back to Loyaliste, who showed a neat turn of foot here last time.
