Three-year-olds don’t have a great recent record in this Group 3 having only won one of the last eight renewals. But that winner was Simple Verse, who went on to win the St Leger and was trained by Ralph Beckett, who has a trio of entries this year. The fast-improving Melodic Motion will be fancied and has form on good to soft, though this is a big step up in class and distance. Stablemate Rich Legacy has a squeak, despite ground concerns, and Dubka is also worth considering, though never seems to run two races alike. The rain may have come in time for ENDLESS TIME (NAP) as the Godolphin filly is a real mudlark and the class act here on her victory in last year’s Lancashire Oaks, when the ground was testing. She also ran well on her reappearance at York this year when the going was soft. Natural Scenery also has stamina in abundance and will be going on at the finish. Wild Irish Rose has got her act together lately but she still appears to have a bit to find with some of these.
