Winter hasn’t looked back since finishing second to stablemate Hydrangea on her reappearance. She won the English and Irish 1000 Guineas and was then successful in the Coronation Stakes at Ascot. Her trainer thinks she’ll stay the extra here but the Galileo filly is up against proven Group 1 performers over this trip and further including Musidora winner Shutter Speed, possibly unlucky when fourth in the French Oaks next time. Blond Me has won a couple of Group 2 contests and last year’s runner-up Queen's Trust later won at the Breeders’ Cup and was a close-up fourth in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes last time. Frankie has shocked a few pundits by choosing the returning SO MI DAR ahead of Shutter Speed but there may be method to the madness. The four-year-old goes well fresh and beat recent Pretty Polly winner Nezwaah after a break at Yarmouth last year. She would have maintained her unbeaten record in the Prix de l’Opera later had she not been impeded and is a high-class filly.
