        Verdict

        The leading protagonists here are taking a jump into the unknown with this trip. STAR ROCKER is a tentative selection to land this despite being turned over at odds-on on his last two starts. Soft ground at Brighton last time would not have favoured him but his previous second at Salisbury reads well in the context of this race. The nagging doubt is his ability to see out the trip and it is an experiment for all concerned as he lacks the tactical speed at vital stages over shorter. Shy, a maiden after eight starts, does not have a progressive profile. He does appear a galloper and his pedigree does suggest middle distances should be his optimum. Pure Song was held up to get this trip last time on the all-weather. She did have her chances in the race but did not see it out in the manner of one that is suited by this trip. Dubai's Wonder encounters a livelier surface to the ground she has had to deal with on her last two starts. Stamina is not an issue with Guardian Of Truth and a re-production of his third in the ladies derby at Newbury would see him become a player but he is inconsistent. Star Rocker is selected to land this weak maiden.
