A typically open sprint handicap with a number of possibles but Undeterred has plenty in his favour and is just preferred ahead of Sir Desmond, Kingscross and Flak Jacket while Zuhair can never be left out of calculations at this venue. David Barron's charge is on a longish losing sequence but is fairly treated on the pick of his form and has been showing signs that he is ready to strike. The seven-year-old was a close second in a competitive handicap over this trip at York last month and was then far from disgraced when chasing home a progressive type at Hamilton off a 2lb higher mark on his latest start. The son of Zafonic handles cut in the ground and looks well drawn in stall 20 so should be on the premises. Sir Desmond comes here in excellent form having scored a shade comfortably at Hamilton last time but is arguably better over the minimum trip while Kingscross ran an encouraging race last time but has to overcome a poor draw. Zuhair is something of a standing dish at this track and shaped as though he will appreciate the extra furlong after staying on in pleasing fashion over five furlongs here earlier in the week and should confirm the placings with stable mate Flak Jacket who weakened out of contention having helped to set a strong pace and may do better with more patient tactics but Undeterred looks the percentage call in a difficult finale.
